The line, the circle and the square are the elementary shapes that can be found in Jürgen Paas’ wall and floor works. The Krefeld-born artist with a studio in Essen works with bright plastic ribbons, which he winds up into spirals or puts together lines. Hardly limited in size, huge floor objects with a diameter of several meters are created, which become walk-in works of art. The change in perspective in the room continually creates new visual experiences for visitors.

At the opening of the exhibition, Jürgen Paas’ large floor work becomes a “dance floor”. The Theater der Klänge from Dusseldorf is a guest and shows excerpts from “TRIAS – The Triadic Ballet”, a contemporary interpretation of the stage play by Bauhaus artist Oskar Schlemmer. The figurines designed in Schlemmer’s aesthetic are brought to new life in the midst of the works of Jürgen Paas.

The performance begins at approximately 11:30 a.m.
